1. **Get started:** Essential information about JaySearch, its features, and how it compares to manual rank tracking in GSC and other SEO tools.

# What is JaySearch

Let's dive right in and learn all about JaySearch! You'll discover why its keyword ranking data is the most accurate among other SEO tools.

**In a Nutshell**

* JaySearch has built to help SEO specialists monitor real\* keywords and track actual\* positions for their websites. As a result, SEOs can make better decisions and take more accurate actions.
* That's because keywords they monitor in a rank tracker often don't match phrases people are actually searching for, nor do they reflect actual positions on Google.
* Unlike most rank trackers that show each keyword position daily, JaySearch only displays the positions for keywords that have received impressions.&#x20;

### What is JaySearch?&#x20;

**JaySearch is the most accurate rank tracker that simplifies your SEO workflow.** It’s as easy to use as any familiar rank tracking tool, but with a key difference: JaySearch pulls position data directly from Google Search Console. This means there’s no need to compare the data to real-world results, as the data is already accurate and up-to-date.

**JaySearch saves you significant time when working with GSC data.**

### &#x20;🤔 So… what makes it different from other tools?

SEO professionals regularly cross-check their rank tracker data with Google Search Console.&#x20;

**Why?**&#x20;

That's because keywords they monitor in a rank tracker often don't match phrases people are actually searching for, nor do they reflect actual positions on Google. What they see in their rank tracker can differ significantly from what they see in GSC and live SERPs.

Some SEOs rely solely on Google Search Console, manually checking keyword positions through incognito mode in their browsers.&#x20;

Daily rank tracking with Google Search Console is such a hassle! You choose a page, go to Queries, choose a keyword, check positions, reset the keyword, choose another one, check positions, reset, and so on and so forth — keyword by keyword, page by page. Donkey work! JaySearch comes to the rescue in this aspect.

That’s where JaySearch makes a difference.

> We use Google Search Console data and make it easier for SEO pros to track keyword rankings. We've refined and optimized the data to give you more actionable insights.

With JaySearch, you can group and save keywords by page, receive daily updates on positions, and apply SEO filters for quicker and more effective data analysis.

As a result, JaySearch saves you valuable time and efforts that would otherwise be spent clicking through GSC or browsing SERPs in incognito mode.

**Here's how we turned the GSC data in JaySearch for SEO professionals.**&#x20;

You can see all the keywords your site ranks for, along with their daily positions for the past 30 days, right away. No more jumping between tabs or endless manual checks! 👇

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FI7Q7m2RH0wXQqfK1fRW5%2F0.1.png?alt=media&amp;token=986a416a-4caf-4cdb-b286-08ce535681a6" alt="Easily check your website positions in JaySearch"><figcaption><p>You can easily check how your website positions changed over the last 30 days just in 1-click</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Unlike most rank trackers that show each keyword's position daily, JaySearch only displays the positions for keywords that have received impressions. This means that if a user searches for a keyword on Google within the specified region and your site appears, Google Search Console will provide the position value via API. If no impressions are recorded for that keyword, you’ll see a “–” in the position field.
{% endhint %}

# JaySearch VS other tools?

SEO tools often show high rankings for keywords that don't exist and don't get clicks. As a result, the rankings are high, but the traffic isn't coming. Learn why this isn't the case with JaySearch!

Setting up a project in most rank tracking tools is a tedious and time-consuming process. It requires manually collecting keywords for each page. If your site has over 1,000 pages, this task is simply too overwhelming.

In JaySearch, on the other hand, once you integrate your GSC account, you immediately get access to 10,000 keywords that have already been mapped by Google to the most relevant pages.

That means you can get a project up and running in just 30 seconds, down from three days.&#x20;

# Creating Your First Rank Tracking Project in JaySearch

In this rank tracker tutorial, we'll walk you through creating your first tracking project and getting started with JaySearch.

**Before we start:** Make sure you have a verified website in your Google Search Console (GSC) account, linked to the email you used during registration, and that you have the necessary access rights. If you signed in with an email that you don't have any websites in your Google Account, you can change the email in your Account settings in the Integrated accounts section.

To check this, log into your GSC account and look at the list of websites in the upper left corner, just below the Google logo.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2Fku6claamBD1QpqoGshD6%2F1.5.png?alt=media&amp;token=3b804f7d-2a89-4d09-921d-e619e580443d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* If you don’t have a website in Search Console, follow this guide “[Add a website property to Search Console](https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/34592?hl=en)”
* If your website is listed but not verified, follow this guide “[Verify your site ownership](https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9008080?hl=en)”&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
JaySearch won’t work unless your website property is added to your GSC account with verified ownership.
{% endhint %}

If your website is verified—great! Now, let’s move on.

### Step 1: Add New Project

Log in to your JaySearch account. To create your first project, on the All Projects tab, click the Add new project button.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FcWLAIEB5JNplB1aVFyZl%2F1.1.png?alt=media&amp;token=ff6d2dbd-283f-4ae2-8404-430d38eca07b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Step 2: Choose Your Website

Next, you will see a list of websites that you can import from your Search Console account. Select the site you want to track rankings for and click the Next button.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FPvHv4yZ9Mz31wh9OLvh2%2F1.2.png?alt=media&amp;token=e1c4dc69-385b-48c5-9474-193b631a86bd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Sometimes users encounter straightforward issues on this step, and the most common ones include:

* **Empty website selection tab:** If the website selection tab is empty, it indicates that your Google Search Console account has no properties linked to it yet. To resolve this, log into your GSC account, add a new website property, and complete the ownership verification process.
* **Unverified resource:** If you see a website listed with “Unverified resource” under it, it means the site is in your GSC account, but you still need to verify its ownership to access data.

Also, keep in mind that if you’ve just added a website to GSC, data won’t appear instantly. It typically takes 24 to 48 hours for data to start showing in Search Console, but it could take longer if the site is new or hasn’t been indexed yet. Be patient, and check your dashboard periodically—it will begin displaying data soon!&#x20;

### Step 3: Choose Your Target Location

After choosing a website, you need to select the country for which you want to view keyword rankings. Select the country from the list and click the Import button.

{% hint style="info" %}
JaySearch only shows the countries in the list where your site has clicks and impressions.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FVNvjFC5jpQwijagg1gh3%2F1.3.png?alt=media&amp;token=0ffb6f80-6ad2-4bf6-81f2-3b800cadaea7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
In case you want to track keyword rankings for any other country, you will need to create another project for the same website but with the desired country
{% endhint %}

### Step 4: Review Your Website's Data and Dive Right in

**Congratulations 🎉**

**Your project has been successfully created. Enjoy exploring all that JaySearch has to offer!**

JaySearch automatically imports your website data from GSC. All the data in your Search Console is now available in JaySearch—just as accurate as GSC, but much more user-friendly for tracking keyword rankings 😉

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2F6oqEi4irrBJ7DIjT9yB4%2F1.4.png?alt=media&amp;token=445c27c7-93cc-4a1e-a5d8-ec5627aeeb72" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

On the main screen, you'll find an overview of key metrics like total website traffic, impressions, average position, average CTR, and visibility, all displayed on an easy-to-read graph.

Below the main screen, you’ll see tabs **Pages** and **Keywords**—these are the core sections you'll use for tracking keyword rankings.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FWQJCcbVrgdOzbXI2tSgZ%2F1.6.png?alt=media&amp;token=7f91a120-d5f7-4376-89a6-e14e4e61c939" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In the **Pages** tab, you can view all the pages of your website, along with each page’s URL, clicks, impressions, the number of keywords the page ranks for, its top keyword (with search volume), and the average position.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2F2N2Mxn1cpsYeUXpAydrf%2F1.7.png?alt=media&amp;token=f26b714a-f82a-49bc-91f9-653e88947abe" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In the Keywords tab, you can track all your ranking keywords, they are sortable by volume, clicks, and impressions. One standout feature of this tab is the ability to view historical keyword rankings, which tracks a website’s position for specific keywords over time. This allows you to identify ranking fluctuations and evaluate the effectiveness of your SEO strategies.

You can also group your main keywords to monitor their rankings and keep them handy. Check out our next tutorial on how to set up keyword groups 👇

# Set Up Keyword Tracking

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to identify the most essential keywords for your business and how to set them up for tracking in JaySearch.

Let's face it, tracking all website keywords is going to cost you an arm and a leg, especially if you have a large and well-established site with thousands of pages.

But by focusing on the most important keywords and grouping them together, you can track more effectively.

But how do you identify the most essential keywords for your business? How do you set them up for tracking?&#x20;

Let's find out in this guide!

### Choosing The Right Keywords to Track in SEO

The right keywords lie at the intersection of your audience’s pain points and the solutions your business provides. Keep in mind that not all keywords contribute equally to your business goals. It's more efficient to focus on:

* Non-branded keywords close to ranking high (“striking distance”).
* Branded keywords that have recently led to conversions.
* Keywords that have shown success in paid search campaigns.
* Long-tail keywords, which, despite lower traffic, can be highly valuable due to specific user intent.

This approach not only saves resources but also aligns better with achieving tangible ROI from your SEO efforts.

By focusing on the keywords that truly matter, you can rank for terms that drive meaningful results for your product or service.

### Creating Rank Tracking Reports in JaySearch

You can create rank tracking groups, to which you can add important keywords and keep them handy. You can also share these groups with clients or team members.

To start, you can monitor keywords either on a site-wide basis or page-by-page. Let’s begin by focusing on the site-wide approach.

### Tracking Keywords Site-wide

1. Open the list of projects and click to the desired one.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2F6SgjTMUjrSwZvO6pcxXD%2F2.1.png?alt=media&amp;token=2444450a-1f18-4041-831a-4be09fedb8a9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Inside the project, go to the Keyword rankmap section. Here, you'll see all the pages and keywords your site ranks for, along with its total traffic.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2F8MINVmEs4UPy43f1sYmH%2F2.2.png?alt=media&amp;token=4bf29036-a734-4504-bc3e-1648b0a579e5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. Click on the Keywords tab. This is where you'll find a complete list of all rankings keywords.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FBfrDNLwX4tIuN48hpSXL%2F2.3.png?alt=media&amp;token=1082f60c-6217-41c5-a7fa-73a59afdf6b4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
In the Keywords tab, you will see the historical rankings for each keyword: how its position has improved or decreased
{% endhint %}

3. To add specific keywords for tracking, click the checkboxes to the left of the queries, and they will be automatically placed in the clipboard.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FchTlKmtYLdbBAXrlYQ35%2F2.4.png?alt=media&amp;token=72729cd9-af3f-4dd4-9ec4-a0cabe5fa6f3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
If you already know which keyword you want to monitor, simply use the filters to find it quickly

<img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FI9yzyoYN4MrA84IQsmke%2F2.12.png?alt=media&amp;token=cdb0b0ef-a356-4f39-8193-f7d61b19b09b" alt="" data-size="original">
{% endhint %}

4. Now that all your keywords are collected in the clipboard, you can create a report by clicking the Create new report button.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2Fk8uYSuiD6Iug1DwxY4dI%2F2.5.png?alt=media&amp;token=0d5d7c53-7edb-4284-b0a9-74abcf998957" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

5. First, check the preview of your tracking group. If everything looks good, save it by clicking the Save report button.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** If you close the report preview without saving, any unsaved data will be lost, and you'll have to start from the beginning. To avoid data loss, be sure to save the report before living the preview mode.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FPzNvFBPiLsJxCXYKKnEa%2F2.6.png?alt=media&amp;token=e18230a2-7e5d-4dcd-b54c-5ac3c76ceb6c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

6. Then name your report, specify the update frequency and click Create.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FKX2py6KSdP5FLZxtr4JM%2F2.7.png?alt=media&amp;token=7ddedfb5-093a-40c2-ba64-8395f7a7ca2f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Congratulations, you have successfully created your first Rank Tracking report! You can find the report in this project in the Reports navigation section.**

{% hint style="info" %}
If you want to change a report name or delete it, use the context menu (three dots).

<img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FAA2HLnPLFrv6FYX4B2Yd%2F2.11.png?alt=media&amp;token=03347c51-5e9f-495d-94a5-d8d81cbf28f5" alt="" data-size="original">
{% endhint %}

### Track Keywords Page-by-Page

1. To find page-specific keywords, navigate to the Overview and select the Pages tab.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2F3advfh00CtbLURX6aXcz%2F2.8.png?alt=media&amp;token=54d754c2-cd70-458e-81a4-50116de3981f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. Copy a page URL, open the Page filter, and paste the URL there. Click on Submit to apply the filter.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FJYW9sS7KP25uQOAhVLYf%2F2.9.png?alt=media&amp;token=13f4a850-57f6-48d0-a80a-c8c6d10c36a5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

3. Once the filter is applied, you'll see data specific to that page in the table below the chart. To view all the keywords for this page, go to the Keywords tab.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FA2KgiVNTGiTRh1kPiorC%2F2.10.png?alt=media&amp;token=719452d3-8946-4c0f-816f-6629e9b2cf48" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

At this point, it's helpful to sort the keywords in the table by impressions or clicks, as the main keywords typically drive the most traffic.

{% hint style="info" %}

* An **impression** is counted every time your page appears on a search results page for a specific query, even if users don't click on it.
* **Clicks** represent the total number of times users clicked on your website's pages in search results for that query.
  {% endhint %}

If the page has few or no impressions or clicks, you can manually select keywords using the Keywords filter.

4. Add to the clipboard 5 keywords (or as many as you need) and put them for monitoring, following the steps outlined in the first part of this guide.&#x20;

# View Historical Keyword Rankings

In this rank tracking tutorial, we’ll break down how to check historical keyword ranking data of your website in JaySearch.

**Why do you need historical keyword ranking data?**

* Assess the effectiveness of your SEO strategies over time by monitoring increases or decreases in keyword rankings.
* If certain keywords have lost positions, you can investigate and make adjustments to improve their performance.
* Measure the impact of changes you've made to your website, such as updating meta tags or content.

To view historical rankings of your website, follow these simple steps:&#x20;

1. Go to the project you set up earlier. Find the specific page you want to check website ranking history. The **Keywords column** shows the number of keywords each page ranks for.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FzwFM7TJFI1SHRoUDw4UZ%2F3.1.png?alt=media&amp;token=3ac3beab-ebf2-429d-a11a-8a1ccd1d9133" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. To see rankings keywords, click on the number in the **Keywords column**.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FwHfci4G5lItAVMqAxWF6%2F3.2.png?alt=media&amp;token=eb094fdb-5242-4c16-8062-9f1aa8f983ca" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This dashboard shows how keyword positions have changed over the past month. To view more recent data and see position improvements or declines, scroll to the right. &#x20;

You can view positions not only for a specific page but also for the entire website. To do this, navigate to the **Keywords tab**.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FBfrDNLwX4tIuN48hpSXL%2F2.3.png?alt=media&amp;token=1082f60c-6217-41c5-a7fa-73a59afdf6b4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To filter keywords by position, use the **Position filter**, specify your desired range, and click **Submit**. For this example, we will select positions ranging from 2 to 10.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FjsEMNiWNb0V4bhgjmHqf%2F3.3.png?alt=media&amp;token=f965d91d-6b9f-4852-a18f-5aa923241666" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

As a result, we see a list of keywords with positions between 2 and 10.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2F9uEY8023veG0hUQR0Msc%2F3.4.png?alt=media&amp;token=bd84121c-e20d-4adf-ab83-9920d75f6eba" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

That's how you can see the ranking history of a given keyword in JaySearch. &#x20;

# Finding Untapped Keywords

We'll break down how to find untapped keyword opportunities with SEO Insights in JaySearch. Then you can use these keywords to boost your rankings and get more traffic.

In JaySearch, you can discover hidden keywords that are easy to rank for and have great SEO potential to drive more traffic to your website. These keywords typically have a low click-through rate (CTR)—meaning they receive many impressions but few clicks—and rank between positions 5 and 20. We’ll refer to these as Untapped Keywords.

OK, let's dive in and find these keywords to optimize your website.&#x20;

1. To begin, navigate to the SEO Insights section. Here you’ll see three subfeatures such as Untapped Keywords, Long-Tail Keywords and On-Page SEO Insights. Click on the Untapped Keywords card.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2Fatd6E186gvvCTzOLW6MS%2F4.1.png?alt=media&amp;token=77e9a75b-c2fd-46f4-a6d8-c9b87ef3396b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. In the Keyword rankmap section under the Pages tab, you'll find hidden keywords with significant SEO potential, sorted by page. If you prefer a comprehensive list for the entire site, head over to the Keywords tab.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FLCelnWoFgkfM5qGlQtNY%2F4.2.png?alt=media&amp;token=6316aeee-06c6-44b0-b49f-c94770eff7e7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

3. As mentioned earlier, keywords with low CTR that already rank between positions 5 and 20 are particularly valuable.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FhAjqaacZPyH4RoxE4lmd%2F4.3.png?alt=media&amp;token=8129b857-785f-4203-8ce3-68497a2eefaf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once you’ve discovered these untapped keywords, consider how you can take advantage of them.&#x20;

This may involve creating new content that targets these keywords, adjusting the title tags or meta descriptions of existing content, or ensuring that your content fully addresses the searcher's intent.

4. We recommend setting these keywords for ongoing monitoring. Track their performance after changing title tags, meta descriptions, or creating new content. Look for changes in CTR, rankings, impressions, and clicks.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2Fhb5LHOaZ4BWxCbLzsljC%2F4.4.png?alt=media&amp;token=3bdd26f0-ef20-47e2-9a9a-a082ba87f24b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

What's great about JaySearch is that by looking at historical rankings, you can measure the impact of the changes you've made.

# Finding Long-Tail Keywords

In this guide, we’ll break down how to find long-tail keywords using SEO Insights in JaySearch. With long-tail keywords, you can attract high-quality traffic and increase conversions on your website.

With SEO Insights, you can find and use hidden content to boost your ranking and get more traffic.

In JaySearch, you can easily discover long-tail keywords. Long-tail keywords are longer and more specific queries that searchers are more likely to use when they’re closer to a point-of-purchase or when they’re using voice search. Most long-tail keywords have lower search volume than short or “head” keywords.

1. To begin, navigate to the SEO Insights section. Here you’ll see three subfeatures such as Untapped Keywords, Long-Tail Keywords and On-Page SEO Insights. Click on the Long-Tail Keywords card.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2Fatd6E186gvvCTzOLW6MS%2F4.1.png?alt=media&amp;token=77e9a75b-c2fd-46f4-a6d8-c9b87ef3396b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FjpEDx3E4LHcY94ktJhvj%2F5.1.png?alt=media&amp;token=e6056aa0-9e0b-403c-a04d-d938abc7a74a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. In the Keyword rankmap section under the Pages tab, you'll find top long-tail keywords, sorted by page. To see a comprehensive list for the entire website, head over to the Keywords tab.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FlFgaEL1gTQD3DDUTQ6VA%2F5.2.png?alt=media&amp;token=4330f436-c2cd-4471-9161-916ebc0320c9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once you’ve discovered these long-tail keywords, consider how you can take advantage of them.&#x20;

This may involve creating new content that targets these keywords, adjusting the title tags or meta descriptions of existing content, or ensuring that your content fully addresses the searcher's intent.

We recommend [setting these keywords for regular monitoring.](/use-cases/set-up-keyword-tracking#creating-rank-tracking-reports-in-jaysearch) Track their performance after changing title tags, meta descriptions, or creating new content. Look for changes in CTR, rankings, impressions, and clicks. <br>

# Discovering New Content Ideas

In this rank tracker tutorial, we’ll break down how to find new content ideas for your website using the SEO Insights feature in JaySearch.

You may have already covered many key topics and now find it challenging to come up with fresh ideas. Or perhaps you're just starting to create new content.

Either way, JaySearch can help.

But before diving in, let’s define the purpose of your blog or website and focus on topics that resonate with your target audience. Ask yourself:

* What topics are most discussed in your industry?
* What are the latest trending topics?
* What problems do people suffer from in your industry?
* How do users search for a product like yours?

Now that you've had a chance to think about these questions, let's move forward.

1. Open your project in JaySearch.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2F8MINVmEs4UPy43f1sYmH%2F2.2.png?alt=media&amp;token=4bf29036-a734-4504-bc3e-1648b0a579e5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

2. First, we need to find keywords that are ranking low in SERPs. To do this, we’ll filter positions from 5 to 50. Next, we’ll filter out keywords that have at least 10 impressions but 0 or 1 click. To make sure we're only looking at keywords that people search, let’s set the search volume to more than 10.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FZM85nMm4qapD5DlwhxNN%2F5.3.png?alt=media&amp;token=5af871fe-0014-475e-bacc-c81c50553491" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

3. Apply all filters and go to the **Keywords tab**.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FlFgaEL1gTQD3DDUTQ6VA%2F5.2.png?alt=media&amp;token=4330f436-c2cd-4471-9161-916ebc0320c9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In our case, we can see that the website ranks for 1,165 keywords, and we can surely use some of them as new content ideas.

4. You can search for new article topics by all the keywords it ranks for, or you can see the ranking keywords for a specific page. In the first case, go to the Keywords tab and start searching. In the second case, copy the page URL and paste it into the page filter.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FmSIyO3V8Zbzcxa7fOloH%2F5.5.png?alt=media&amp;token=ec704c84-6894-409f-8e7c-e7b9b9937b17" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

5. After applying the filter, we can see that the page we've chosen ranks for 20 keywords.

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FsaGXmbfdh9tCsfoBftwr%2F5.6.png?alt=media&amp;token=6e6dd457-5f61-497f-aaf7-f2b69f8947c2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Among these keywords, there are phrases with impressions but no clicks. One of them is “class performance ideas”. This phrase is similar to the main page topic, "elementary school talent show ideas”, and the page ranks for it, but adding it to the existing content won't improve the ranking because the query has limited intent. To address this, we need to create a new article on this topic, so we'll select it.

We also see the query “kid talent show ideas,” which is similar to “elementary school talent show ideas”, but it’s broader and relates to all children. Let's add this one too.

As you can see, we’ve created a user-friendly environment that makes it easy for you to discover fresh content ideas.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1100105470-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FK93ldimDfu4lB7XK9YsI%2Fuploads%2FDZ3c7otfx7mq5sw018RZ%2F5.7.png?alt=media&amp;token=9713d842-f9d0-455d-bc00-b12609bc7f06" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

6. Once you find new topics, set these keywords for regular monitoring. After publishing the new page, [track how its rankings change over time compared to its initial performance](/use-cases/set-up-keyword-tracking#creating-rank-tracking-reports-in-jaysearch).&#x20;

# Bulk Check How New Pages Perform

In this rank tracker tutorial, we'll break down how to easily check how bundles of new or old pages are performing in JaySearch using the Bulk URL Analysis feature.

With Bulk URL Analysis you can quickly analyze key SEO metrics for up to 100 pages. Just paste the URLs of the pages to get instant insights on their traffic, impressions, average positions, keywords and more.
